BRISBANE - HOUSE
The client wished to downsize from a beautiful Queenslander property in Brisbane to a smaller new build. The brief was to capture many of the qualities of their current house but at a reduced footprint - essentially like shrinking the house in a hot wash. These included high ceilings, heritage red roof, wrap around verandas and plenty of wall space for their collection of paintings.
The client found a great plot of land in the area they currently live however it directly backed onto the trainline and highway. The client wished to have some external space, so we devised creating a courtyard at the front of the building, which the ground floor would look onto instead of the train line. The first floor would have an atrium around the feature stairwell with windows to look over the trainline to the beautiful hills in the distance.
